Day 1: Monday Arrive in Venice
Welcome to Venice airport, meet your Tour Director & Driver for transfer to your hotel in the outskirts of Venice. (Included shuttle arrival transfers 11:00 am and 4:00 pm departure airport departure) In the afternoon after unpacking and freshen up, we will depart from the hotel through the countryside of the Veneto region to “Villa Sandi” estates for a tour of the winery followed by a Prosecco tasting. This evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2: Tuesday Venice
Today we will begin our morning with a relaxing boat ride to Murano Island, famous for its handmade glassware. We will visit a glassmaking factory and you will have a chance to see firsthand the impressive craftwork of traditional Venetian glassblowing performed by master craftsmen.
Afterward, we will make our way to St. Mark’s Square, for a walking tour to visit the splendid St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, enjoying views of the Bell Tower and Bridge of Sighs.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure to shop, explore or take a romantic ride in one of Venice’s famous gondolas. Late afternoon return to your hotel. (B)
Day 3: Wednesday Venice to Verona Amarone Winery, Lake Garda, and Parma
Today we will drive to Tuscany, our first stop on route to visit Romeo and Giulietta’s Town, Verona. Enjoy the beautiful city center, visit the famous Arena, a Roman amphitheater, Piazza Delle Erbe and finally reach Giulietta’s house.
Move to a local very exclusive winery in the Negrar district, try the famous Amarone wine, the Italian best red wine. Lunch and tasting.
Departing from the small harbor in front of Sirmione castle (Piazzale Porto – Sirmione) we’ll circumnavigate the Sirmione peninsula to see the ex-villa of Maria Callas, the SPA and beauty center Aquaria, the Grotte di Catullo that are the biggest ruins of a Roman building in the North of Italy.
Then we’ll return to Sirmione. Before ending the tour you’ll have the chance to admire the Scaligero Castle from another point of view and you’ll pass under the two bridges of the castle.
Continue in the late afternoon to Parma, the capital of Italian cuisine. Overnight and dinner on your own. (B, W, L)
Day 4: Thursday Parma, Parmigiano and Prosciuto, and Ferrari Museum in Maranello
Parma, the home of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and the cured Prosciutto di Parma explore the “food valley” and taste and learn about all the techniques & traditions of making Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Late morning move to Langhirano for visit at renewed Salumifico, learn about how Prosciutto di Parma is made, and have a taste of grand selections. Lunch will include also homemade tortellini and ravioli.
In the afternoon we move to Maranello for a visit to the Ferrari Museum and factory. Admire one of the very best excellence of the Made in Italy.
Return to the Hotel in Parma. rest of the day at leisure. (B, L)
Day 5: Friday Parma, Modena & Bologna, and Florence
Transfer to Tuscany. Stop on the route in Modena at famous Acetaia where you will learn about the balsamic “Traditional” vinegar of Modena, including a learning tasting session. Continue to Bologna, the seat of the oldest university in Europe and the capital town of Emilia Romagna.
Short visit of the historical center with its uniques Portici Bolognesi, admire Piazza Maggiore, Neptun fountain and the Asinelli Towers. Free time to enjoy the lovely street food market where you can have either lunch at a restaurant or “aperitivo” with cold cuts and cheese at a traditional “salumeria”.
Our journey continues through the Apennine mountains to Florence. Tonight enjoy a welcome Tuscan dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Florence. (B, D)
Day 6: Saturday Florence
This morning our city tour begins at the majestic Piazza del Duomo where we will visit the famous Cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery with Ghiberti’s splendid bronze “Gates of Paradise.”
Then, we will make our way to visit the renowned Academy of Fine Arts, where Michelangelo’s breathtaking David is displayed. Walk to Piazza Della Signoria and then reach the river Arno to admire the view of Ponte Vecchio.
The tour ends at Santa Croce square to visit. The remainder of the day is yours to savor the Tuscan capital at your own leisure. (B)
Day 7: Sunday Siena, Coooking Class & Chianti Classico wine, and San Gimignano
Today we explore the heart of Tuscany to Siena and San Gimignano. In the morning visit medieval Siena, known for its famed Palio horse races, Saint Katherine, and Piazza del Campo.
Move for lunch at the famous Palazzo and cooking school in Siena. Today’s hands-on lesson with our Chef, learn about cooking and Italian recipes. Afternoon moves to a Chianti wine estate for wine tasting including. Late afternoon visit San Gimignano, stroll the old center “Medieval Manhattan” famous for the fascinating architecture and towers that offer amazing views of the city and the surrounding valley. Tonight enjoy a relaxing dinner on your own. (B, W, L)
Day 8: Monday Florence – Montalcino wine region Tuscany – Rome
Today we will travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany & Umbria through Etruscan settlements along the ancient Roman Salaria road to Rome. Stop on route for a light lunch and wine tasting at the exclusive Brunello di Montalcino winery in Val d’Orcia. Stroll around the city of Montalcino before you move towards Rome. (B, W, L)
Day 9: Tuesday Rome – Vatican Museums, Sistine Chaple, and St Peter basilica
Welcome you to the Vatican city with a private guided tour through the Vatican Museum one of the world’s largest collections of sculptures and art including the Sistine Chapel. Our tour will end at St. Peter’s Basilica built over the Tomb of Saint Peter. Lunch suggested at local trattoria by Trastevere medieval district. Enjoy one of Rome’s famous pasta such as Amatriciana, Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe or Gricia (B)
Day 10: Wednesday Rome – Colosseum, Trevi fountain & Piazza di Spagna
This morning our guided tour will start exploring the origin of Rome the Palatine hill, the Circus Maximus, the Arch of Constantine & the imposing Colosseum – a testament to the greatness of Rome’s past.
In the afternoon explore the Famous Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, Pantheon & Navona square.
Tonight bid arrivederci in Rome with a special dinner with wine in a lovely Roman restaurant in Navona square. (B, D)
Day 11: Thursday Rome to Pompeii and Sorrento
Depart Rome, and head to Pompeii the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site which was buried under ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. In the evening we will make our way to the beautiful cliffside town of Sorrento. Enjoy a traditional Sorrentine dinner at your hotel and then enjoy the rest of your evening relaxing or taking a stroll to Sorrento’s lively piazza. (B,D)
Day 12: Friday Sorrento, excursion to Capri
This morning we will set off across the bay to the beautiful Isle of Capri. Here, you will visit the magnificent Gardens of Caesar Augustus and view the famed Faraglioni Rocks. You will also have time to wander through the winding roads and browse the elegant boutiques before returning to Sorrento. (B)
Day 13: Saturday Sorrento – Positano & Amalfi Coast
Full day on the Amalfi coast, a natural Unesco Site, known worldwide for its breathtaking road on high cliffs overlooking the sea. A quick stop in Positano, to admire its beautiful architecture and the picturesque shops.
Continue to Amalfi, visit St Andrew’s Church and the maritime Museum of the Ancient Republic of Amalfi. Do not miss the chance to get the famous Amalfi paper as a souvenir.
Taste some “Limoncello” at one of the local small factories.
Continue to the village of Ravello, famous for the music festival. Suggested visit to the wonderful gardens of Villa Cimbrone and its amazing view of the coastline. Lunch is suggested in Ravello. Afternoon Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner at stunning restaurant. Arrivederci, Italia. (B, D)
Day 14: Sunday Naples airport
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Naples International airport for your return flight home. (B)
